Box of Style ‘Summer Box’ Review

Rachel Zoe is one of the biggest fashion tastemakers of our time. So who wouldn’t jump at the chance to score a selection of items carefully curated by the icon herself? My Summer Box of Style, a seasonal box of exclusive on-trend items presented by The Zoe Report, has arrived and it’s full of all of the style and beauty essentials that I’m confident every woman needs for this time of year.
Summer Box of Style Review
Filled to the brim with quality accessories, timeless wardrobe pieces and life-changing beauty essentials, the Box of Style is more like a Box of Wellness that is evidently created with every woman in mind. When it comes to subscription services in fashion and beauty, I often worry that I’ll receive items that don’t match my style, body type, or skin type. But after trying the Box of Style, I am confident that every featured item can be used by women of all shapes, colors and sizes because they are universally flattering and undoubtedly timeless. Plus, the items in this month’s box had a total retail value of nearly $500. So it’s very reasonably priced for the value that you’re receiving.
I’m really in love with all of the items I got in this season’s box! Here’s a review of each of the items I received:
Helena Quinn Kimono – *Box of Style Exclusive*
Retail Value: $120
I have been dying for a kimono all Summer and now I finally found the perfect one! While many kimonos are made of heavier fabrics and have more dramatic silhouettes, this beautiful kimono by Helena Quinn is very lightweight, simple and easy. It’s also so versatile. My favorite look to wear it with is a nice pair of linen white trousers and a simple tank. But this kimono can easily be worn as a cover up at the beach or even as a blouse with a tank underneath! I can’t wait to try out all of the ways that I can wear this versatile piece.
Raen– Durante Sunglasses in Black or Tortoise (Box of Style Exclusive)
Retail Value: $150
It’s hard for me to find a good pair of sunnies that flatters the shape of my face. But these are IT! The sunglasses are the most subtle cat-eye shape, making them the perfect size to give me a super chic and effortless look — especially when worn with a nice nude lip! Not only are these sunnies stylish, but they are made with industry-leading lenses for optimum sun protection for your eyes in temperatures up to 212 degrees. I was given the option to choose between black and tortoise. And I chose tortoise because the color is exclusively available in the Box of Style. I am so happy with my choice — black sunglasses come by the dozen. But a good pair of tortoise sunnies are truly a dime a dozen.
The Brave Collection- Compass Necklace
Retail Value: $115
I love dainty, simple jewelry so this compass necklace was a perfect match for me. As a budding jet-setter, this necklace gave me all of the feels, because I can see myself wearing it during all of the Summer trips I plan to take in the future. This necklace is plated in 14K gold, so it’s water friendly — perfect for the beach.
Sole Society – Straw Panama Hat
Retail Value: $27
This hat is TO DIE FOR. The little pom poms are the perfect detail to give this simple hat an elevated look and feel. This hat is very reasonably priced, but its quality is amazing. It’s also an extremely versatile color that can go with any look, from day to night. One of my favorite trends of this season is the return of the silk neck scarf — I can’t wait to wear this trend with my new hat for a day on the town with hubby and my son.
BEAUTY COUNTER – Protect Stick Sunscreen
Retail Value: $18
I’m always a little apprehensive to try new beauty products, but this one really came through. It’s a paraben, silicon-free sunscreen with SPF 30 sun resistance. It’s also water resistant, and after testing it out I can say that it doesn’t leave that white, dewy residue that many water-resistant sunscreens do. The applicator is similar to deodorant, which is super simple and quick. This mineral sunscreen will definitely be my new go-to.
This item may just be my favorite thing from the Summer Box of Style. First off, this blusher is the most beautiful shade of pink; very subtle but noticeable. It is beautifully packed in a gold tube that makes application so smooth and easy. PLUS you can double it as a lipstick, which I absolutely love. I plan to keep this in my bag at all times, just in case I need to add a touch of color to a light Summer makeup look.
